Track Name: Any Two Of Us
He brushes snowflakes from her hair
And he kisses her with care
They are quite a friendly pair, you can see

They cuddle close and feel
A lot less of the chill
Together they are warmer
Than they’d be

When there are two of us
Any two of us
We are happier than we are all alone
When there are two of us
Any two of us
We don’t feel the winds that chill us to the bone
Track Name: Ocean Blue
She was an old boat but a sound one so he got her
He spent a year in dry dock fixing things
It cost him a mere trifle when he bought her
But a year in deep repairs sure can sting

Her name was “Oceana” and it suited her
He painted up her hull in ocean blue
And one day when her repairs were all concluded
He hoisted up her sails and out she flew

Ocean blue
Ocean blue
He is leaving everything in search of you
Ocean blue
Ocean blue
He’s out here finding peace in solitude

I guess it’s true that the ocean can be dangerous
But he trusted her and so she favored him
He never had to worry or be courageous
He loved her most when he stripped down for a swim

Ocean blue
Ocean blue
He is leaving everything in search of you
Ocean blue
Ocean blue
He’s out here finding peace in solitude
Track Name: The Sun And The Moon And The Stars In The Sky
The sun and the moon and the stars up above
We put them all in when we write about love
I guess cause the jewel and mystery of it
Has a similar feel and it seems a good fit

But it's cold out in space and it's lonely besides
and if love were like that I would cast it aside
They put a man on the moon but you couldn't see his face
He was locked in a cold and impervious case

So the sun the moon and the stars in the sky
Can’t compare to the love that we feel, you and I
But I’m glad they are there cause they help to see
Your face in the dark when you’re looking at me

But it's cold out in space and it's lonely besides
and if love were like that I would cast it aside
They put a man on the moon but you couldn't see his face
He was locked in a cold and impervious case
Track Name: Sour Getting Sweeter
I’ve been sitting on this barstool
For an hour and a half
‘Cause she promised she’d come with me
And we’re never coming back
But she’s taking such a long time
And I guess I’ve had a few
I’ll maybe have another
While I think what I should do

A woman walks in, dolled up
And I think it must be her
But my vision’s kind of blurry
And my words are kind of slurred
I say, “I thought you’d never…”
And she says, “I never will”
And I guess I’ll have another
As I have some time to kill

I’ll have another whiskey sour
And I’m sure by then she’ll come
Though I can’t think where we’re going
Don’t even ask me where I’m from
But the sour’s getting sweeter
And my mind is going numb
I’ll have another whiskey sour
And I’m sure by then she’ll come

Just one more drink won’t hurt me
But the barkeep cut me off
I guess he thinks I am finished
I guess he thinks that I’ve gone soft
But I’ll show him what I’m made of
Once I’ve a had a little snooze
There’s a reason why I came here
Could you give me just one clue?

I’ll have another whiskey sour
And I’m sure by then she’ll come
Though I can’t think where we’re going
Don’t even ask me where I’m from
But the sour’s getting sweeter
And my mind is going numb
I’ll have another whiskey sour
And I’m sure by then she’ll come
Track Name: Poor Man's World
I would like to get rich
But it’s a son of a bitch
To figure out how to succeed

It’s not that I’m dumb
But the riches don’t come
Perhaps I am lacking in greed

But who should I trust
When the banks all go bust?
The executives all get new cars

And for their punishment
They get retirement
And a hundred K boost in gold bars

It’s a poor man’s world we live in
'Cause the rich all live elsewhere
Behind the gates and guns and all that comes
With the life of a millionaire
Track Name: Summertime
summertime
summertime
how I miss it
I want to visit
summertime

summer heat
rescue me
melt the ices
I’m in crisis
summertime

deep in winter
I just whither
sit inside

I haven’t tried
suicide
I hope I make it
to the breakup
summertime

deep in winter
I just whither
sit inside
Track Name: Siren
(Bm) She gathers men like (G) flowers in the field
And (Em) they all long to be (Bm) picked
She is a siren but so genteel
Love is a look and a trick

(C) Bouquets of (D) men
Are (Bm) falling at her (Em) feet
(C) She doesn’t (D) stoop to pick them (Bm) up
(C) All that she (D) asks
Is that (Bm) you be dis(Em)creet
But (C) that will (D) never be en(G)ough

One man to drive her to shops all over town
One more to see her back home
A man for dining in her most stunning gown
One more with whom to be alone

(C) Bouquets of (D) men
Are (Bm) falling at her (Em) feet
(C) She doesn’t (D) stoop to pick them (Bm) up
(C) All that she (D) asks
Is that (Bm) you be dis(Em)creet
But (C) that will (D) never be en(G)ough
Track Name: Sardines And Crackers
They’re all coming here for dinner but I don’t even cook
Must be something in the cupboard. Better go and have a look
How long has it been

Sardines and crackers
One can of soup
I hope they’re snackers
This might not do
I’d get them knackered
If I had the booze
I’ll say I’m fasting
That I’ve gone off food
Track Name: Lifelong Letter Writer
I’m glad he didn’t see the towers fall
But he saw the rise of Hitler
And he went over there as a doctor to care
On the side of the allied victor
Though the siren call led many to fall
He stopped his ears and tricked her
And he come home alive and did more than survive
He worked for a world less bitter

He was lifelong letter writer
Who wrote letters for peace
He kindly asked oppressors
To make oppression cease
Sometimes it worked wonders
And sometimes not at all
But he kept on writing letters
In his familiar scrawl
Track Name: Never Sing Again
I don’t claim to play the best guitar
There are kids who better me by far
And when I sing I seem to clear the room
They all have to get to somewhere soon

So why do I like singing songs so much?
It’s like driving with a broken clutch
Someone gave me the desire to sing
Couldn’t he have given me a voice that rings?

I don’t understand it much myself
Should I put my guitar on the shelf?
Should I smile and say, well, that is that
And never sing again or would that be too sad?
Track Name: Don't Drink The Water
I drank the water from the fountainhead of youth
I thought it meant I'd never die
I'm still surviving that much is the truth
But who would claim that I am still alive?

Don't drink the water
Not if you wish to live
It leaves a bitter taste on your tongue
Don't drink the water
The years that it will give are years that never end once they've begun
Track Name: Lips Of Red (Heart Of Black)
Lips of red
Hair of gold
She is anybody’s dream
Ivory skin
Emerald eyes
She is nothing like she seems

Heart of black
Hard as a stone
Don’t take her back
Leave her alone

Scores of men
Have run aground
Gazing in her eyes
Do it again
If they could
She makes prudent men unwise

Heart of black
Hard as a stone
Don’t take her back
Leave her alone
Track Name: Just A Girl
It was a long time ago
And she is best forgot, I know
I’ve tried but as you see I have failed

She was only just a girl
Innocent of the world
And I was fairly innocent then, too

We walked out at night
Took in all of the sights
And we felt old and wise though we weren’t

We danced and were free
In youthful revelry
But love like that too easily gets burnt

He said it would be safe
It would all come out okay
And when we had the money come on back

But there were problems that
He couldn’t counteract
He lost her though he did his best, he said

We walked out at night
Took in all of the sights
And we felt old and wise though we weren’t

We danced and were free
In youthful revelry
But love like that too easily gets burnt
